I want a Sewing badge. Despite being a over-achiever, I count only 6 Girl Scout badges from my youth and the last — Housekeeper, no less — is pinned on. Sigh. Apparently, I ran out of steam.

[X] years later, it turns out sewing is fun, not that hard, and relatively inexpensive — my first pillow cost <$10. It helps having a beautifully simple machine (forward or reverse), a collection of colorful fabrics, and a wanton disregard of perfection.

Started with a creative pile.

Put the pedal to the metal — this vintage beauty runs like a charm!

Definitely sewed outside the lines – on purpose.

Took time to admire the Art Deco lines and the hot pink thread.

Added stuffing and voila, my first handmade pillow… ever!
